coastal powder room
Little should not mean overlooked.
Due to it’s small proportions, a powder room is sometimes given short shrift when it comes to home design. Yet it can serve as a tiny sanctuary for the family and guests who use it, and as such is as worthy of considered design as the rest of the home.
We began with a sculptural green bucket sink, its rich color grounded by some of the most exquisite botanical wallpaper we've had the pleasure of working with. Brass fixtures and lighting, each hand-crafted in California, bring a warmth and artisan quality that feels genuinely special rather than simply expensive.
But for all its richness, the room never loses its lightness. Soft blue walls keep the space feeling open and airy, while built-in shelving — painted to match the walls so the eye moves easily through the room — adds storage without visual clutter. A wood-paneled ceiling, a detail echoed from the kitchen renovation, adds another layer of texture and soul, turning what could have been a purely functional space into something you linger in just a little longer than necessary.
